Stefanos Economou & Associates – Est. 1950
Our law firm was founded in 1950 by Panagiotis Economou. In 1992 Stefanos P. Economou, Attorney at Law at the Supreme Court, D.E.A., became the firm’s Managing Partner.
A third generation of attorneys has joined the firm, namely Fani S. Economou (Tax Law, Athens University of Economics and Business) and Panagiotis S. Economou (LLM Queen Mary University).
Stefanos Economou graduated from Law School with Honors. In 1988 he was awarded a post-graduate degree (D.E.A.) by the University of Paris. He speaks English and French and has very extensive experience, both as a litigator and as a consultant in business, pharmaceutical and medical law.
Stefanos Economou worked for 21 years as General Counsel and Compliance Officer for Boehringer Ingelheim Hellas S.A. and has served as a Board Member.
Our law firm provides legal services to pharmaceutical firms, pharmaceutical wholesalers and health care companies, including the multinational company of medical devices, Edwards Lifesciences Hellas.
He is the author of many books and articles of pharmaceutical law published in legal reviews, i.e.:

“Advertising of Medicinal Products in EU from a Legal and Compliance perspective”.
The book deals with legal and deontological compliance of the pharmaceutical industry within the EU. It includes an analysis and interpretation of the European Directives 2001/83/EC, 2005/29/EC and 2006/114/EC for the advertising of medicinal products, of the relevant Jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice and guidelines for the establishment of a Compliance Program in a Pharmaceutical Company.

The book on CJEU and national court jurisprudence, includes all legal and deontological obligations in the promotion of medicinal products, and also sets out the steps required for establishing a Compliance Plan for promoting pharmaceuticals.
